Found Fossils

Not surprisingly, we stumbled across a multitude of antique shops on the way to Denver. Many were fully stocked with contorted farm equipment, free ranging pets, and a ton of aged fabric! My favorite was in Hays. Imagine two buildings with over 10,000 feet to explore!

8 hour drive

Sitting in the passenger seat I quickly started snapping pics of road side attractions, Midwest specific billboards and rickety old barns/houses.

Cumulus congestus

This week we've been taking to the skies for inspiration. We've endured our fair share of bang-clang flash flooding thunderstorms. It's become some what of a habit to look up. Here are some images of lines and types of clouds. I hope to see them transformed into abstract patterns. Did I mention how much I love this time of year?

the routine

Hansom Vincent
One of many heaps of fabric

Finished product

Wild flowers in the backyard
mossy ledge
new/old neon yellow letters
Lately my days have been consumed with pressing, slicing, taping and mounting fabric. I love sorting through such a wide range of oddities. To date I've evaded any blade-related injury(knock on wood).

Yay! and/or Neigh!

In the quest for website imagery we found ourselves at Stepping Stone Ranch in Baldwin, KS. In a Kansas field with 30 horses of all sizes and colors...I couldn't be happier. Hoping to use the images we collect to represent the vintage side of the Quince to Marmalade. A little abstract I guess? But when it all comes together.....PERFECTION.
