I saw these walls and window panes in passing yesterday. I love the crumbling effect that the weather has had. The crackled caution sticker is my favorite.

Brooklyn Photoshoot Take Two
We took to the streets of Brooklyn with the infallible combo of black and white as our muse. Thanks to my ladies Miyako, Fauve, and Brandee Brown another successful photo shoot! An excellent way to showcase the vintage prints we find for the upcoming Quince to Marmalade website. Coming soon ya'll, so hold those horses!
Capes and Cloaks
I love the versatility that a Cape offers. They have a deep rooted history from Medieval Europe, 19th Century, Military Ware, and now Fall 2010 Fashion. They keep making their return. From elaborate embroidery to the casual poncho. (Above) Photos from style.com Left to right: Albino,McQueen, Ports 1961, Wunderkind
(Below) Here are some vintage Capes, Cloaks, and ponchos. From top to bottom: A 50's Wool Cape (FIT Museum), A 1950's knit cape(into the Fray), Hawaiian Royal Cloak made of feathers!(Live Journal), lastly a Velvet cape circa 1890-1900 (vintage textiles)

Around Town
The Urban Mining Homewares is a thoughtful arrangement of Vintage. They are only open the first Friday, Saturday and Sunday of each month. It differs from most antique stores in that it lacks the general chaos I've come to expect. Here are a few photos. I especially love the scroll of highly decorated perforated piano paper(used in a self-playing piano)!

Corroded Vegas
We spent last weekend combing through the 'old downtown' and current arts district of Las Vegas. It was a dense gold mine of sweet nectar, by that I mean: bedazzled shoes, ample sequined stage wear and over the top retro fabric.
We happened upon a store with 2o,ooo sq. ft. of clothing, furniture and accessories (my favorite was a bronze paper weight of two elephants mounting). We discovered an impressive collection of antique cuckoo clocks. And we met a man who collects vintage upholstery fabric and dispenses eccentric and beautiful furniture.
